Penny Bernath is an early childhood education expert. She has 25 years of experience teaching children zero to five, their parents, their teachers, and their school directors. She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Prekindergarten / Primary Education. She is currently seeking her PHD of Education in Instructional Leadership. Penny has a State of Florida professional teaching certificate for prekindergarten through grade 6. She has a State of Florida advanced director's credential, VPK endorsed. Penny is a certified Florida Department of Education VPK Standards trainer and a State certified 10-hour VPK Emergent Literacy trainer. She is a certified Department of Children and Families Florida's mandated 40-hour childcare trainer and teaches National Child Development Associates (CDA) courses at Nova Southeastern University.

Our company and our products have heart and soul. The idea for TimeBuddy™, and subsequently GoLearn Toys, was conceived during a difficult time in the founder's life as he was involved in a divorce and attending parenting classes for his 3 year old son Sebastian.
The founder, J.C., realized that other parents in his parenting class also had difficulties with their children in regards to time management and daily routines. The root of the problem lay in the fact that young children do not understand the concept of time and consequently don't understand how to manage daily routines.
J.C. created a rudimentary version of TimeBuddy for Sebastian that proved to be very successful in helping him understand that certain activities such as going to the YMCA were to be performed during certain time intervals throughout the day (at 4pm in the afternoon).
By using a time device and visual icons to indicate daily activities, Sebastian was able to clearly understand sequences of daily activities and managing those daily activities became easier. And that is where TimeBuddy's story begins...
